We are excited to welcome Katie Izenour to our lab for her PhD! Katie is the first graduate student from the lab who will be based in the Department of Pathobiology in the AU-College of Veterinary Medicine. Katie joins us from CDC where she was a part of the PEPFAR (President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) program in Washington DC.
Katie received her Master’s of Public Health from Tulane University and BSc from the University of South Florida, and brings with her years of experience in public health.

Several members of the DEET lab attended UGAs special symposium on VBDs this weekend. Kayleigh and Micaela presented posters on invasive species as disease facilitators and malaria vectors in Madagascar! Great work, team!
